The Cleveland Browns recently hired former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken as the new head coach for this franchise after they fired Kevin Stefanski earlier in the offseason. Monken is a head coach for the first time in his coaching career, and this was an interesting move for Cleveland, nonetheless. A lot of people thought that he was going to be the new offensive coordinator for the New York Giants and follow John Harbaugh instead.

On Tuesday, Monken was introduced as the head coach of the Browns in a press conference. Cleveland finished with a 5-12 record last season, and they made it to the playoffs two seasons ago. Monken is going to bring a different element of coaching and offensive scheme to this football team. One of the biggest questions for the Browns for next season will be is Shedeur Sanders going to be the quarterback for the long term or not.
Cleveland Browns Head Coach Todd Monken Gets Asked About the Future Of Shedeur Sanders

Browns head coach Monken was asked if Sanders is going to be his quarterback one heading into next season. Monken said, “That’s to be determined.” Dillon Gabriel is one of the other noticeable quarterbacks on the roster right now. Would Cleveland draft a quarterback in 2026, trade for one, or sign one in free agency? That is something that remains to be seen. General manager Andrew Berry and Monken are going to have to decide what feels best for this football team.
Sanders struggled during his rookie season. He completed 56.6% of his passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. It will be interesting to see if he is a career backup at best or if he has more potential to be unleashed. Sanders is one of the most polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL. It would not be a surprise to see the Browns keep him for next season and it would also not be a surprise to see them move off of him this offseason. Sanders is only 23 years old.
