The Texas Longhorns suffered an injury scare with quarterback Quinn Ewers on Saturday night against the UTSA Roadrunners. He suffered an abdominal/oblique injury in a 56-7 win. Ewers suffered the injury in the first half and he did not return to the game.

Ewers completed 14-of-16 passes for 185 yards two touchdowns and one interception in the game against UTSA. Ewers performed well the week before against the Michigan Wolverines on the road. He was finally able to beat the team up north. Ewers is a former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback.
Texas Longhorns Quarterback Quinn Ewers Is Week-To-Week

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Ewers is “week-to-week: with no timetable for a return to game action. Ewers will not play this week against LA-Monroe. It will be interesting to see if Ewers can return for the Week 5 matchup against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
With Ewers sidelined for this week, Arch Manning will most likely be the starting quarterback for Texas. Everyone will be excited to watch him play. Manning caught the attention of others when he came in relief for Quinn Ewers on Saturday night. He is the son of Cooper Manning. Peyton Manning and Eli Manning also had effective NFL careers as well.
Trey Owens will most likely be the backup quarterback for the Longhorns this week. He appeared on Saturday night and completed 2-of-4 passes for 19 yards.
Arch Manning Big Game

When Ewers left the game with an injury, Arch Manning had a big game for the Texas Longhorns. He completed 9-of-12 passes for 223 yards and four touchdowns. Manning also rushed for 53 yards on three carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 17.7 yards per carry.
He will not be eligible to be in the NFL Draft until 2026. Manning is a redshirt freshman. As for Quinn Ewers, he is a junior this season and is eligible for the NFL Draft after this season. It will be interesting to see if Ewers misses more than one game. It could also affect his NFL Draft stock in the long run.
If Quinn Ewers only misses one game, it will be interesting to see if head coach Steve Sarkisian will give him back the starting job. For now, all eyes are on Arch Manning to get the job done. He is going to be in the spotlight in the SEC Conference for at least the next week if not longer. The fan reactions will be interesting to see when Ewers returns from injury.
