During the 2024 college football season, Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning started a few games because Quinn Ewers dealing with an oblique injury at one point. When Manning was the starting quarterback, some fans felt like head coach Steve Sarkisian should have stuck with him.
Arch Manning didn’t start any games during the postseason and some fans felt like he wasn’t used enough. Well, Manning is going to be the starting quarterback for the football program in the 2025 season. With Texas not winning a National Title in 20 years, some feel like he could get the program to that spot next season.
Texas Longhorns Quarterback Arch Manning Makes Statement About College Career So Far
Manning next season will be entering his sophomore season. Arch Manning completed 67.8% of his passes for 938 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions last season. Manning was also more athletic in the ground game than Quinn Ewers was.
Manning interviewed with Marty Smith of ESPN and said:
“I kinda wanted to bring Texas back.”
Well over the last two seasons, Quinn Ewers was the starting quarterback mainly and got to the college football semifinals in both seasons and lost both games. In 2023, they lost to the Washington Huskies and in 2024, they lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Some felt that had Manning started this season over Ewers, they could have won the National Title. It remains to be seen if that will occur next season or not.

There are a lot of fans who are hype about Manning for next season. A lot of people think that he could be one of the top picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning probably will not be drafted until 2027 also.
