The Texas Longhorns defeated the Clemson Tigers 38-24 in the first round of the college football playoffs. The next stop for Texas is facing the Arizona State Sun Devils in another round of the college football playoffs.
This year, the Longhorns are 12-2 and Arizona State has an 11-2 record. The Sun Devils won the BIG12 Conference this season and that is a conference that Texas won a season ago before moving to the SEC Conference. Steve Sarkisian has led the charge for the Longhorns all season long.
Texas Longhorns Head Coach Steve Sarkisian Praises The Arizona State Sun Devils Ahead Of the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl
On Monday, the Longhorns head coach spoke to the media about the matchup against the Arizona State Sun Devils after beating the Clemson Tigers. Steve Sarkisian all season long has been about respecting his opponents. Sarkisian said about the Sun Devils matchup:
“We we’re in the Big 12 for 27 years, we won four. This is their first year, and they won the Big 12 Championship. It’s is a really hard thing to do…The last two months, I think they’re playing as good of football as anybody in the country.”
This is total respect from the Longhorns head coach. Kenny Dillingham has done a wonderful job this season with the Sun Devils. Texas is favored by double digits against Arizona State.

Its respect but this ASU team plays with a gigantic chip on their shoulder already.
Sark is smart and doesn’t want to give any more ammunition for those Dilly and his staff to use.

Staying off the ASU bulletin board.

Texas won once in the last 15, just for clarity.

He knows they’ll still win by double digits anyways

The Longhorns may control the line of scrimmage and run the football all day long against the Sun Devils. Texas is way more talented from top-to-bottom than Arizona State is. It would be a massive upset if Texas lost to Arizona State. However, Steve Sarkisian knows he has to respect them because they don’t want to give them more bulletin board material.
