The Texas Longhorns were without quarterback Quinn Ewers in the 51-3 win at home against the UL-Monroe Warhawks on Saturday night. Ewers was sidelined with an oblique/abdominal injury. He suffered the injury against the UTSA Roadrunners.

Arch Manning got the start for the Longhorns. Manning completed 51.7% of his passes for 258 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. He could get away with this performance against lower competition, but it wouldn’t cut it against tougher competition in the SEC Conference.
Texas Longhorns Fans Believe They Need Quinn Ewers To Win the National Title

When Longhorns fans were watching Arch Manning play on Saturday night, they noticed that something was off with Manning. They feel like they will need Ewers moving forward if they want to win it all this season. This is what some fans had to say about it on Twitter:
Arch Manning is an elite talent. Throws a gorgeous deep ball, heck of an athlete, and has a very good arm.
But his decision making and pocket presence are no where near where Quinn Ewers is.
Arch will be elite one day. But if Texas wants to win the national title, we need Ewers

We’re seeing why Arch needs time. The non ball knowers that are on the Arch hype train need to realize real ball talk.

Arch is not afraid to let that thang rip that’s the difference between him and Ewers. Quinn is a mid range ELITE guy. That will win you a lot of games. But it’s so much fun to watch the deep ball.

There will be debates about Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning from Texas’s fanbase for the remainder of the 2024 college football season. Texas fans should be happy that they have this problem because they are both talented.
Steve Sarkisian Provides Massive Update About Quinn Ewers

Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian announced on Monday that Ewers is questionable for the game on Saturday against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. This will be the first conference game of the season in SEC play for Texas.
Ewers also did practice on Monday. It will be interesting to see if Ewers is back for the game on Saturday against Mississippi State. If Ewers does not play, Arch Manning will start for the second consecutive game for the Longhorns. If Manning does start, it won’t be a big deal. The Longhorns will need him back at some point if they want to win it all this season.
