The Houston Texans downed the Chicago Bears on Sunday to improve to 2-0 on the season. The final was 19-13 as defenses ruled the afternoon. CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams figure to be two of the “next generation of quarterbacks” in this league.
The two quarterbacks talked after the game, however, the internet blew up when it appeared like Williams wasn’t interested in what Stroud had to say.
Texans’ QB CJ Stroud Lets Loose About Confrontation With Bears’ Caleb Williams
After their Week 2 showdown on Sunday Night Football, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud had an on-field interaction that went viral.
In a media session on Wednesday, September 18, Stroud clarified that his message to Williams was one of positivity, not condescension:
“I [wasn’t] trying to like ‘little bro’ him. He knows that, too. I have a ton of respect for him. I told him I have respect for him,” Stroud said.
“And I had so many guys come up to me after games last year, and that meant the world to me that those guys even thought about giving me advice. So I just try to give back what the game has given me.”
