Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin still has not landed a deal with the Commanders for a contract extension, and he recently received an invitation from someone from the Cleveland Browns for him to jump the fence and onion the franchise.

In a post on X, Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward made a public invitation to Terry McLaurin to come over to the Browns, amidst a tense contract negotiation the latter is currently having with the Washington Commanders.
“My Ohio State brother Terry McLaurin would look fire in a Cleveland Browns jersey. I’m just saying,” Ward wrote in his post.

Prior to their respective NFL victories, Terry McLaurin and Denzel Ward developed skills together as collegiates at Ohio State University, both being part of the Buckeyes’ roster from 2015 to 2017. McLaurin made fast impressions with a mixture of precise route-running and key catches, while Ward was a freshman who was drafted as a speedy replacement to extend the field with his pure speed from the secondary.

Terry McLaurin ended the 2024 season with 1,096 receiving yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns with the Commanders, making him the most consistent playmaker for Washington whilst also ranking him among the top end-zone threats in the league.
Terry McLaurin Tarde to The Patriots Predicted
With Terry McLaurin’s contract negotiations at a standstill and a public trade request now on file, league insiders are eyeing New England as the most likely landing spot for Washington’s All-Pro wide receiver. Sources say the Patriots could bridge McLaurin’s impasse with the Commanders by packaging two of their own pass catchers—veteran Kendrick Bourne and emerging talent Ja’Lynn Polk—alongside a 2026 second-round pick in exchange for the 29-year-old playmaker.
The proposed deal would send Bourne, who boasts reliable hands and special-teams value, and Polk, the Patriots’ 2024 second-round draft pick still seeking a breakout role, to the nation’s capital. In return, New England would acquire McLaurin’s consistent production and inject a proven threat into its offense without sacrificing a premium first-round draft asset.

Patriots decision-makers view McLaurin as the ideal complement to Stefon Diggs, who is returning from ACL surgery, and as a critical veteran presence for rookie quarterback Drake Maye.
While Diggs continues to regain full game speed and Polk develops into a more polished option, Terry McLaurin’s crisp route-running and contested-catch ability could fast-track New England’s passing attack—and bolster Maye’s early NFL maturation—if the Commanders agree to this blockbuster trade.
