Tennessee Titans Key Stats
This game is going to come down to if QB Will Levis is the real deal. As stated in this podcast episode, we simply do not know what type of professional quarterback Levis is going to be.
He started his first game last week against the Atlanta Falcons. It could not have gone any better for Levis and the Titans.
Levis had 238 passing yards and threw four touchdown passes. Best of all, he did not throw a single interception.
RB Derrick Henry is also someone to watch in this game. Last week, there were rumors that he might be on the chopping block to get traded. Now, it looks like he is here to stay.
Levis could use some help from a star running back like Henry. He is fifth in the NFL with 526 rushing yards.
Another key thing to note are the Over/Under trends the Titans have this year. Before Levis made his debut, six of their first seven games went Under the projected point total. However, Levis’ one game went Over that point total.
It will be interesting to see which trend keeps up in this game for the Titans.
Pittsburgh Steelers Key Stats
The Pittsburgh Steelers have an even bigger Under trend than the Titans do. Six of their first seven games have gone Under the projected point total.
When you take a closer look at the numbers, you start to understand why.
Pittsburgh’s offense is one of the worst in the NFL. They rank 29th in points per game with just 16.1. Their defense is about average, allowing around 21 points per game.
The key thing to note here is the Steelers’ turnover differential. They are second in the NFL (+7) in this category.
Plus, the Steelers’ defense is great at forcing turnovers. They have 15 takeaways this season. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars (18) have more than them.
Game Prediction
To me, this game comes down to what Will Levis is made of. While I do not think he is a bad quarterback, I do not think it is fair to ask him to match what he did against the Atlanta Falcons.
Levis has at least one interception to me in a low-scoring affair. Pittsburgh should come up with a key turnover and get a solid performance from their defense. Give me the Steelers at home to get the big win and cover the spread here.
Final Pick
Pittsburgh Steelers -3 (-110)
Under 37 (-110)
