Tennessee Titans star nose tackle T’Vondre Sweat suffered an ankle injury in Week 1, which caused him to miss Week 2. The former second-round pick was set to return the following week but aggravated the injury during practice. As a result, the Titans placed Sweat on injured reserve leading up to Week 3, sidelining him for the next four games.

According to Jim Wyatt of the team’s website, the Titans have designated T’Vondre Sweat for return from injured reserve, effectively opening up his 21-day practice window in the process. The nose tackle has 21 days to practice with the team before being eligible to return to the active roster, or will revert to season-ending injured reserve. Sweat returned to practice on Wednesday, an exciting development.

Who has filled in for him?

Both James Lynch and Shy Tuttle have split time at the number three defensive tackle spot, while starters Jeffery Simmons and Sebastian Joseph-Day have taken on larger defensive roles. Lynch has recorded nine tackles in six games, one start, and 32% of snaps. Tuttle, on the other hand, has eight tackles and one TFL across five games, one start, and 30% of snaps.
