The Tennessee Titans are 3-13 this season and they will be facing the Houston Texans during the final week of the 2024 NFL season. Tennessee has not played well all season long. One of the biggest issues with the Titans this season has been quarterback play.
Will Levis was benched for Mason Rudolph at one point during the season and Levis has struggled staying healthy also. If Tennessee gets a top-five selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, there is a solid chance that they draft a quarterback.
Tennessee Titans Pass Up On Quarterback In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
For right now, the Tennessee Titans would have the number two selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. There is a great chance that Tennessee will draft a quarterback. However, CBS Sports writer Josh Edwards created his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft and thinks that they will pass up on a quarterback.
Edwards has them selecting Tetairoa McMillian, a wide receiver from the Arizona Wildcats. This season with Arizona, he has caught 84 passes for 1,319 yards receiving, and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 15.7 yards per catch. Josh Edwards said about this selection:
“Why not Shedeur Sanders? In this scenario, the presumption is that Sam Darnold signs with Tennessee in free agency and the Titans opt not to go down the path chosen by Atlanta a year ago. If Minnesota can’t afford to bring Darnold back, then Tennessee head coach Brian Callahan may be more inclined to prove himself with a veteran rather than developing another young quarterback who may or may not work out.”
If the Tennessee Titans were able to sign Sam Darnold next year, picking a wide receiver number two overall would make sense for the Titans. However, if they don’t sign a quarterback, then Tennessee will have to draft either Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward second overall.
Potential Trade Down
If the Tennessee Titans want to trade down from the number two pick, they could potentially do that. If they are not sold on either quarterback, there is a chance that it could happen. Tennessee is more than just a quarterback away. They have other holes on this roster.
Will Levis and Mason Rudolph are not the long-term answer for this franchise. If they do keep the selection and if they do take Tetairoa McMillian with this selection, they will have their star wide receiver for the next decade in the NFL.
