The Tennessee Titans have high hopes for the potential of quarterback Cam Ward. Expected to lead the Titans from under center from the get-go of the 2025 NFL season, Ward carries with him the pressure to play a major role in what the Titans hope will be a turnaround for the team.
It has been a while since the Titans last reached the NFL playoffs or won at least eight games in a season. They have not been to the postseason over the last three seasons, during which they have racked up a combined total of only 16 wins against 37 losses.
Ward isn’t going to be the entire solution for the Titans’ woes, but he’ll be a prominent face for Tennessee, who finished last in the division standings in 2024 with just a 3-14 record.

It is officially official for Ward and the Titans, as the NFC South franchise announced that it has signed the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft to a contract.
“The No. 1 overall pick is officially a Tennessee Titan @Cameron7Ward,” the Titans shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
The 2024 ACC Player of the Year is coming off a sensational senior year with the Miami Hurricanes, throwing for 4,313 passing yards and 39 touchdowns against only seven interceptions in 13 games.
Ward, who also played college football for the Washington State Cougars, will surely be facing several challenges in his rookie season, but for now, he’ll have the chance to prove that he’s a long-term answer under center for the Titans.
