As it stands, the Tennessee Titans are still winless for this season. If they want to get some guys who can help the roster get a victory, the front office may have to consider trading wide receiver Treylon Burks to two teams, as projected in a mock NFL trade.
As of now, the Titans appear committed to keeping Burks involved in their offense despite his underwhelming performance this season. The wide receiver has faced challenges, including injuries, which have hindered his development since being drafted. Offensive coordinator Nick Holz emphasized the team’s desire for Burks to succeed, noting the importance of continued opportunities for him to make plays.
While veteran receiver DeAndre Hopkins has emerged as a reliable target for quarterback Will Levis, Burks has struggled to find his footing. Despite high expectations following his selection, his production has lagged, leading to speculation about the potential for Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to step into a more significant role.
Holz acknowledged that Burks has experienced a mix of bad luck and situational challenges that have affected his targets. The team remains optimistic about his future, but it may be time to give other receivers like Westbrook-Ikhine and Jha’Quan Jackson a chance to shine.
Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos Projected To Go For Tennessee Titans’ Treylon Burks in Mock NFL Trade
If the Titans still have a hard time in the coming weeks, they should entertain the idea of trading Burks. According to a mock trade idea by Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, the front office may deal with the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos as trade partners.
“The Panthers could be interested if they continue winning with Andy Dalton under center. Johnson, Xavier Legette and Adam Thielen all had solid outings in the backup QB’s first start, but Thielen is 34, while Johnson will be a free agent next offseason.
Burks is only 24 and played under Panthers wide receivers coach Rob Moore over the past two seasons.
The Denver Broncos might also want to consider Burks as they look to build a quality receiving corps around rookie quarterback Bo Nix. He isn’t a proven receiver, but he’s young enough to be a long-term building block if he can develop,” Knox wrote.
As the Titans navigate their receiving options, the focus is not solely on Burks’ struggles but on optimizing their offensive strategy. With a solid receiving corps, including the talents of Hopkins and Calvin Ridley, the Titans aim to balance their playmakers while fostering Burks’ growth.
Burks’ potential is still there for the Titans and the team is determined to integrate him into their plans moving forward, hoping he can eventually fulfill the promise that made him a first-round pick. If things don’t work out, though, the franchise should explore a trade that will give them the best chance to compete once again.
