According to Jim Wyatt of the team’s website, Lorenzo Carter informed the team he plans to retire. He played for two teams throughout his seven-year NFL career. Carted ended his career with 278 tackles, 35 TFLs, 58 QB hits, 21.5 sacks, two interceptions, one pick-six, 18 pass deflections, and five forced fumbles in 96 games and 62 starts.

He began his career in New York

The New York Giants drafted Lorenzo Carter 66th overall in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He primarily played as an EDGE rusher in New York, while also taking reps as an off-ball linebacker and dropping into coverage. Carter recorded 153 tackles, 21 TFLs, 35 quarterback hits, 14.5 sacks, one interception, 15 pass deflections, and three forced fumbles in 49 games and 33 starts over his first four seasons.
He spent the last three years in his hometown

The Atlanta Falcons signed Lorenzo Carter to a one-year contract in 2022 and mainly played as an EDGE rusher. After a strong inaugural season in Atlanta, he later signed a two-year extension in 2023. He recorded 125 tackles, 14 TFLs, 23 quarterback hits, seven sacks, one interception, one pick-six, three pass deflections, and two forced fumbles in 47 games and 29 starts across three seasons.
