The Tennessee Titans look to improve their offensive line after another disappointing year protecting Will Levis. Tennessee surrendered the 15th-most pressures (139), the 12th-highest pressures percentage (22.7%), tied for the tenth-most QB hits (57), and tied for the 5th-most sacks (52). The Titans also ranked 21st in run block win rate and 27th in pass block win rate and finished 28th in PFF’s offensive line rankings.
The Tennessee Titans set to sign OT to a monster contract
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Titans are set to sign Dan Moore Jr. to a 4-year, $82 million contract with $50 million guaranteed. Moore’s $20.5 million APY ties him for being the sixth-highest-paid left tackle based on APY in the NFL per Over The Cap. Now that the former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle is heading to Tennessee, the expectation is for JC Latham to move from left tackle to right tackle, his natural position.
The newcomer has been average in his first four seasons
Dan Moore Jr. has been an average tackle throughout his first four seasons in the NFL. Moore is coming off an ok 2024 campaign, surrendering 41 pressures, 26 hurries, three QB hits, and 12 sacks allowed while posting a 66.9 pass-blocking, 60.9 run-blocking, and a 67.2 overall PFF grade in 18 starts. He gave up the 9th-most pressures, the 16th-most hurries, and the most sacks and finished 42nd in pass-blocking, 40th in run-blocking, and 34th in overall graded among qualified offensive tackles who have played at least 50% of snaps (h/t) PFF.
Since Moore has been an average tackle in the league, many fans questioned the decision to make him the sixth-highest-paid offensive tackle.
