A week ago, Tennessee felt great about heading into its big matchup with Georgia, but it would fall to the Bulldogs 31-17, leaving it out of this week’s college football playoff.
The College Football Playoff committee released its new rankings on Tuesday night, and the Volunteers came in at number 11. This ranked them out of the playoffs, as BYU was ranked 14th. Still, since the Cougars would be Big 12 champs, they would get a spot in the playoffs over Tennessee.
Many Volunteer fans were angry that the committee ranked Tennessee as the lowest SEC team out of Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Georgia, even though they beat the Crimson Tide over a month ago.
Tennessee fans took to social media to express their frustration, and here are some of their thoughts.
Tennessee Fans Reactions
Tennessee should 100 percent be above Ole Miss. Really bad job by the committee. Losing to Kentucky at home is far worse than losing to Arkansas on the road at night. And all I’ve heard for weeks is how bad that loss to Arky is for Tennessee.

Ole Miss is 2 spots ahead of Tennessee despite having 2 worse losses and a less impressive win
