Last season, Teddy Bridgewater stepped away from the NFL and returned to his High School alma mater, Miami Northwestern. The former first-round pick led his team to an impressive 12-2 record. Over the weekend, Bridgewater coached his team to the 3A Florida State Championship, where his Bulls beat the Raines Vikings 41-0.

Teddy Bridgewater’s Comeback
Now Bridgewater plans to attempt a comeback to the NFL. It seems coaching his team to the state title has rekindled his desire to get back on the field. Bridgewater had this to say when asked about his potential return and how it impacts the his alma mater.
“That’s the plan. My team knows that’s the plan. We wanted to win a state championship and then coach goes back to the league, see what happens, and then come back February in the offseason, continue coaching high school football. We’ll see how it plays out.”
Bridgewater was selected 32nd overall in the 2014 NFL Draft and has made stops in Minnesota, New Orleans, Carolina, Denver, Miami, and most recently Detroit. During his ten year career Bridgewater passed for 15,120 yards, 75 touchdowns and, 47 interceptions, and had a 33-32 record as a starting quarterback.
Bridgwater is only 32-years-old and has proven to be a reliable option. With many teams in need of a quarterback for the 2025 season, Teddy could find himself as a bridge quarterback. And especially with how shallow the quarterback position is in the 2025 draft, Bridgewater might get the chance to be a starter next season.
The biggest issue with Bridgewater has been his availability. He has battled injuries for nearly a decade, but a year off of the field he should be 100% healthy for the first time in a long time. Making a return to the NFL is no small tasks, but a healthy Bridgewater could most definitely do it.
