Taylor Swift’s engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, might put pressure on the National Football League to give the team favor in the upcoming season, according to Vice President of the United States of America, JD Vance. Vance spoke to USA Today soon after Swift and Kelce announced their engagement, and as a life-long Cincinnati Bengals fan, the VP had some important concerns.
Vance went on to also call for football fans to call out the NFL in case they do seem to have some open bias toward the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2025 season. Vance is not the first person to voice this. Even in the previous NFL season, many fans felt that the Chiefs got more attention just because of Taylor Swift’s attendance.

“I will say as a football fan − as a Cincinnati Bengals fan − I hope that the NFL does not put a thumb on the scale for the Kansas City Chiefs just because Travis Kelce is now getting married to maybe the most famous woman in the world. You guys can’t sort of have this. I’m worried they’re going to have a Super Bowl wedding thing this season. Can’t do it. The Kansas City Chiefs have to follow the same rules as everybody else.” Vice President of the United States JD Vance said to USA Today about the effect of Swift and Kelce’s engagement on the NFL.
Taylor Swift has been responsible for numerous of her fans, Swifties, coming to football fans for the first time in their lives. Swift’s appearance in Chiefs games have rocketed ticket sales, making the league and team owners very happy.

Taylor Swift Causing Chiefs Bias Should Be Called Out By Fans
Taylor Swift’s engagement to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce may likely bring plenty of bias from the NFL itself. In the same interview with USA Today, USA VP JD Vance also called on fans to voice their concerns to the league if they see anything of this sort happening in the upcoming season.
“So, if we see the refs being particularly friendly to Kansas City Chiefs players, then I think all football fans should be willing to push back on the NFL and say, ‘Look, you guys got to be fair.’” JD Vance added.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement will definitely bring even more attention to the NFL when compared to previous seasons. Hopefully, this time out, it won’t mess with the tight end’s head as it did in the 2024 NFL campaign.
