Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football for their Week Nine matchup. While this is “just another” midseason game, one of 17 regular season contests, it comes on a night that sees many people in the United States on the edge of their seats. Not because of the Chiefs and Buccaneers, but because of the Presidential election on Tuesday.
The election, of course, has former President Donald Trump running against current Vice President Kamala Harris. Both candidates have received endorsements from various celebrities and athletes during the last few months.
Taylor Swift, Girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce, Endorsed Kamala Harris
One of the biggest Harris endorsements came after the two candidates participated in their only debate. Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, announced her endorsement of the Vice President after the debate.
After the debate, Swift posted on Instagram, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
Swift’s announcement drew praise from many fans, but criticism from others. Notably, Trump himself praised Brittany Mahomes, the wife of the Chiefs quarterback, for her support of himself while saying that he liked her more than the 14-time Grammy Award winner.
And it sounds like Brittany is not the only Mahomes who is supporting Trump.

Before kickoff on Monday night, Randi Mahomes, Patrick’s mom, posted the following video on social media:

“Make America Great Again! Let’s do it!” she says in the video.
It garnered a wide variety of reactions from fans on social media, many of whom supported her message:

For his part, Patrick has not publicly endorsed either candidate, saying he believes that people should do their own research and come to a decision themselves without his influence.
