George Kittle has never hidden his Swiftie status, but his latest story about meeting Taylor Swift shows just how deep that admiration runs. The 49ers star opened up again about the moment during a recent FanDuel Sports Network appearance with Mike Golic and Mike Golic Jr.

Kittle met Swift at this year’s Tight End U, where she arrived with her fiancé, Travis Kelce. What happened next quickly became one of his favorite NFL-world memories.

Kittle said Swift immediately surprised him with how approachable she was. He told Golic Jr. that “Taylor Swift is cooler than you actually think she is,” adding she was “down-to-earth” in every interaction.

He explained that Swift spent nearly an hour chatting with his mother and mother-in-law, something he still finds remarkably generous for someone with her fame.
Later that night, Swift appeared at a Tight End U party and stunned everyone by jumping onstage to perform “Shake It Off.” Kittle said the moment electrified the entire room.
But his favorite moment came when “Love Story” started playing. He recalled thinking he would sing every word, no matter what else happened in the room.
Kittle said he was mid-conversation when the opening notes hit. He laughed, saying his immediate reaction was, “I’m not going to miss this opportunity.”
As he began singing, Swift joined in, turning it into a spontaneous duet. Kittle admitted the moment was surreal because he had just told her the song was his personal favorite.
He added that he was handing out drinks to Swift and his wife Claire when the moment unfolded, calling the timing “unbelievable” and “straight out of a movie.”
Kittle has told pieces of this story before, including in an earlier conversation with NBC Sports’ Matt Maiocco, but the new retelling carried even more emotion.
While Kittle’s Swift story delighted fans, another NFL player sparked controversy with a very different kind of Swift-related moment.
Broncos cornerback Jahdae Barron posted photos from Denver’s 22–19 win over Kansas City, including one collision with Kelce during the game.
He later reshared the image on his Instagram Stories with the caption, “Tell swift put me on a song RIGHT NOW,” a comment many Swifties took as disrespectful.

Fans flooded social media with reactions, some calling the joke playful and others saying it crossed a line. The post disappeared soon after.
One fan said, “Also, didn’t Kelce have a pretty dominant performance in that game? Not a good look for this cat.”
Another Broncos fan chimed in, “Don’t get me wrong I’m a Broncos fan and like Barron. But he should tell his own coach to put him on the field instead of trashtalking a HOF TE.”
A third pointed out, “Another loser who will be working security post NFL.”
Barron’s timing also increased the attention. Kelce had nine catches for 91 yards and a touchdown despite Kansas City dropping its third straight game at Mile High.
The Chiefs fell to 5–5, and Swift fans were quick to point out Kelce’s strong performance while questioning Barron’s decision to poke fun.
Between Kittle’s heartfelt admiration and Barron’s short-lived jab, Swift’s presence around the NFL continues to spark stories, emotions, and plenty of online chatter.
