“Taylor’s A Little Bit Part Of That”: Taylor Swift Credited By Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt On Team’s Fanbase Spike

Taylor Swift has brought a huge number of fans to the NFL after her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, went public. In addition to the NFL, Swift has also been responsible for increasing the fan base for the Chiefs, and the team owner, Clark Hunt recently gave her credit for this.

In his most recent interview with CNBC Sports on Thursday, Hunt discussed the spike in the Chiefs’ fan base, which attracted a large percentage of young female fans. Hunt remarked that this demographic was particularly attracted to Taylor Swift.

“I think we had something, like, a 30 percent growth in our fanbase, which is pretty significant, even for a team that won the Super Bowl. So you definitely have to give Taylor a little bit of credit for that. Took a big leap forward last year, particularly with female [fans] — specifically with young female fans. And I think Taylor’s a little bit a part of that.” Clark Hunt said to CNBC Sports.

Clark Hunt took over the ownership of the team from his dad, Lamar Hunt, who founded the Kansas City Chiefs. Along with the Chiefs, Hunt is also a founding investor-owner in Major League Soccer. Through his company, Hunt Sports Group, Clark Hunt operates the Chiefs and FC Dallas.

The Chiefs disappointingly lost the game to the amazing Eagles with a final score of 40-22. Kelce managed four receptions for 39 yards in that game, while the team’s offense was led by none other than quarterback Patrick Mahomes who completed 21 passes out of 32 attempts for 257 yards, scoring three touchdowns.

Reacting to the ‘boos’ from the crowd, Swift could be seen wrinkling her nose and giving a side-eye. Taylor Swift was present in the crowd sitting next to rapper Ice Spice, along with a number of other celebs in the VIP suite.
