The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 20-23 to the San Francisco 49ers, thanks to a game-winning 44-yard field goal by Jake Moody as time expired. With the loss to the 49ers, the Buccaneers fall to 4-6, remain in 2nd place in the NFC South division standings, and dropped to 12th in the NFC Playoff Picture with a 33% chance of making it to the playoffs.
The Buccaneers are off this week and have a much-needed BYE. The BYE couldn’t have come at a better time because of all the injuries that have impacted the offense and defense. One player’s injury to monitor throughout the next few weeks is their best offensive lineman.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers elite blindside protector exited yesterday’s game

Elite left tackle Tristan Wirfs suffered an apparent knee injury in the second quarter. With the assistance of the medical staff, Wirfs limped off the field and went directly to the medical tent. After a short while in the medical tent, he went to the locker room for further examination as many fans held their breath, hoping his injury wasn’t season-ending.
The good news is his injury isn’t season-ending.
He avoided a catastrophic injury

According to head coach Todd Bowles, via Rick Stroud of The Tampa Bay Times, Tristan Wirfs suffered a low-grade MCL Sprain, avoiding a catastrophic injury. The good news for the Buccaneers is that they are on a BYE this week, and he gets an extra week to heal. However, he is considered week-to-week and could miss a week or so.
Bucs coach Todd Bowles says T Tristan Wirfs has a “low grade knee sprain” and he “will be week to week.” Good news for the All Pro. Tampa Bay has a bye week.

Who starts at LT (if he misses a game or so)?

If Tristan Wirfs is inactive for Week 12, Justin Skule will serve as Baker Mayfield’s blindside protector. For the second consecutive season, Skule has played the swing tackle role on the Buccaneers. He started four games at RT when Luke Goedeke missed time with a concussion and filled in for Wirfs when he exited yesterday’s game.
