The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to make the postseason for consecutive seasons after taking down the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card Round last season. However, they are going to be without one of their starters as according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, offensive guard Sua Opeta suffered a torn ACL during Tuesday’s practice.
He was fighting with Ben Bredeson for the starting left guard spot in training camp but will miss the entire 2024 NFL season with this injury. Opeta signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason with a one-year, $1.375 million deal after being with the Philadelphia Eagles for the previous four seasons. He was an undrafted player out of Weber State and started six games last season (10 total).
According to Pro Football Focus, he had a 53.2 overall grade last season as he played primarily at the right guard spot. He allowed 25 total pressures, two quarterback hits and three sacks in 528 total offensive snaps. It will be interesting to see how the team does going forward.
What will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers do in the 2024 season?
