In 2023, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers delivered a surprising performance, finishing with a 9-8 record and securing the NFC South title. While there were stretches of the season that weren’t the prettiest, the overall result was very good.
They didn’t just stop at clinching their division; they went on to decisively beat the reigning NFC champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, in the first round of the playoffs.
With their sights set even higher, the Buccaneers are gearing up for an even more impressive 2024 season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Rachaad White Reveals Huge Team Goals for 2024
Running back Rachaad White recently discussed the team’s current momentum and potential for the upcoming season during an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio.
“Our ceiling feels like we can do more and win more.”
A standout season from Pro Bowl quarterback Baker Mayfield sparked Tampa Bay’s late-season success.
White also had a career-best season, amassing over 1,500 yards from scrimmage and scoring nine touchdowns.
The NFC South is expected to be more competitive this year with Kirk Cousins joining the Atlanta Falcons and Derek Carr attempting to get the New Orleans Saints back into playoff contention.
The Carolina Panthers might also be a sleeper team to keep a close eye on. Bryce Young is expected to have a much better second season and the new coaching staff and roster talent makes them a more serious team.
Despite the competition, Tampa Bay has claimed the division title for three consecutive years. Even without Tom Brady, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers truly looked the part of an NFC contender.
The Buccaneers still boast key players from their 2020 Super Bowl-winning team, including Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Lavonte David, Antoine Winfield Jr., and Tristan Wirfs.
After exceeding expectations last year, Todd Bowles’ squad could achieve even greater success in 2024 if they remain healthy and maintain their determined mindset. It will be interesting to see what the upcoming year has in store for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
