The Buckeyes have an abundance of weapons. However, nobody expected Cade Stover to be as big as he’s been for Ohio State’s offense. Considering last year Cade Stover was playing on the defensive side of the ball, he has turned himself into a security blanket for Stroud. He had a slow start through the first two games of the year, only having five catches for 54 yards. But, has started getting more attention with seven catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns. The stats have a slight improvement but there are more targets in the red zone. With his quarterback being as good as he is, there’s a chance that Stover can sneak into talks for the Mackey award.
Stroud Continues to Build Heisman Resume by Stover’s Side
Besides one hiccup against Wisconsin this past week, Stroud has had a spectacular start to the season. Through four games, Stroud has thrown for 1222 yards and 16 touchdowns so far with a QBR of 95.4. He has also been spreading the ball around as well, throwing it to nine different players. Stroud continues to impress and build his Heisman resume as so far he has been favored going into week five of the season. I don’t see any changes coming in this upcoming week as the Buckeyes will host the Rutgers Scarlett Knights.
Buckeyes Host the Scarlett Knights
This Saturday the Ohio State Buckeyes will be hosting the Rutgers Scarlett Knight at Ohio Stadium, in Columbus. The game starts at 3:30 and will be airing on the Big Ten Network. Ohio State is coming off a big win against the Wisconsin Badgers with the final score being 52-21, in a game where Stroud threw for five touchdowns. Rutgers is coming off a loss at home against Iowa 27-10. Rutgers had three turnovers this game and will have to clean up the offensive side of the ball if they want to be in this game.
