The Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans renewed their rivalry this past Saturday. The only rivalry for the Wolverines that might be more cut throat is Ohio State. Michigan and Michigan State absolutely do not like each other.
At the Big House, the Wolverines defeated the Spartans 24-17 after a back and forth start.
Following the game, the heated rivalry reared its ugly head, as Wolverines running back Kalel Mullings was accused of assault after the game. A new video from the late-game brawl has fans absolutely disgusted online.
“Stop Stop!” Grotesque Video Surfaces From Michigan-Michigan State Brawl
According to Darrelle Lincoln of Total Pro Sports:
After the game, video footage surfaced showing a chaotic scene overhead. Players were seen pushing and shoving, and some even throwing punches.
Amid the chaos was some Spartans fans claiming that Mullings went further with his actions as it was alleged that he “stomped” on a Michigan State staffer.
Some fans even claimed the supposed victim of the stomp was even a female staff member.

I expect swift punishment on Mullings and whoever is involved in stomping on the MSU player/staff member
Just like 2 years ago, anyone involved deserves to be suspended for a significant amount of time
And according to UM, charges brought pic.twitter.com/wwIgVoJrXS

In the aftermath of the Wolverines’ 24-17 win over the Spartans, there was an on-field melee.
Following a kneel by Wolverines quarterback Davis Warren, Spartans defensive lineman Anthony Jones and Michigan tight end Colston Loveland engaged in a skirmish.
It comes two years after Michigan tight end Colston Loveland headbutted Michigan State defensive lineman Anthony Jones in a tunnel fight.
There were criminal charges filed after that melee.
Two Michigan Wolverines players were seen in videos kicking, punching, and swinging a helmet at Spartans players.
A total of eight Michigan State players were suspended, according to The Detroit Free Press.
Here is an upcoming look at the two university’s schedule:
- Wolverines:
- Vs. #1 Oregon
- @ #13 Indiana
- Vs Northwestern
- @ #4 Ohio State
- Spartans
- Vs #13 Indiana
- @ #24 Illinois
- Vs Purdue
- Vs Rutgers
It will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out.
