The NFL season tests every quarterback differently. Some face injuries while others battle inconsistency. The Washington Commanders needed a win on Sunday.

The Commanders lost 44-22 to Dallas Cowboys on October 19, dropping to 3-4 on the season. Jayden Daniels left in the third quarter with a hamstring injury.
Regina Jackson comes to Jayden Daniels’ defense after heated debate
Daniels completed 12 of 22 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown against Dallas. He also rushed for a score before exiting. Marcus Mariota replaced Daniels after the injury.
The injury sparked immediate comparisons online. Fans pointed to similarities between Daniels and Robert Griffin III. Griffin was selected second overall by Washington in the 2012 NFL Draft. He won the 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Griffin tore his ACL, LCL, and meniscus in his right knee during the NFC Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks on January 6, 2013. The injury affected his career trajectory and he lost his starting position in 2015. The parallels troubled many observers.
Regina Jackson addressed the speculation directly. She posted on X after Sunday’s loss asking fans to stop predicting her son would become like Griffin. “I wish you would stop manifesting RGIII on my son,” Jackson wrote. “Words are powerful and that’s all that’s talked about,” she added with prayer emojis.

Jackson acts as her son’s business manager and holds an MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship and a master’s degree in public service administration.
She is often seen supporting Daniels at his games. The mother-son bond remains strong throughout his career.
NFL Fans Share Mixed Reactions on Social Media
The post generated immediate responses across platforms. Supporters rallied behind Jackson and her son quickly. Critics questioned the timing and approach.
One fan wrote, “Tell him to stop popping hammies then.”
A second added, “With all due respect beautiful. Rg3 had a freak injury. Your son is a certified crash out who refuses to slide. Big difference 🤣”
A third pointed out, “One thing is clear: JD5 is a fierce competitor. He is very accomplished and has reset expectations to a very high level. He’ll be alright and there are more prayers for his healing than anything else.”
Others defended Jackson’s protective stance. The debate continued through Sunday evening.
The Commanders face Kansas City next Monday night. Daniels will undergo evaluation this week. The season continues despite mounting concerns.
