Analyst Stephen A. Smith shared the top three things in his agenda should he ultimately push through with a presidential run come 2028.
In a recent guesting at the PBD Podcast, ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith got honest about his top three priorities should he officially run for president in 2028.
“So, 2028, say you run, what are your top five values that you’re running for in specific order?” host Patrick Bet-David asked Smith.
“Me, personally, the economy is always number one,” Smith said. “The economy would be number one. That puts the border at number two because the border, whether we want to admit it or not, could catastrophically affect an economy.”
“Of course, number three on my list is safety. Safety in the streets of. I hate to say this because as a black man, we don’t want the incarceration rate, the discrepancy that exists. We pay attention to that. We recognize issues like recidivism and stuff like that. We understand it all.”
President Donald Trump recently expressed his support for Stephen A. Smith as a potential 2028 presidential candidate, stating that he would “love to see” the ESPN host run for office. The endorsement came during a NewsNation town hall, where commentator Bill O’Reilly asked Trump if he had any advice for Smith should he enter the race.
Trump praised Smith’s charisma, intelligence, and entertainment skills, emphasizing that these qualities would be crucial in a presidential campaign. While Trump’s remarks were initially treated as lighthearted, Smith later addressed them seriously on his podcast, acknowledging that receiving such words from the President of the United States carries weight.

Stephen A. Smith Maintains He is an Independent
Stephen A. Smith has officially stated that he is considering a 2028 presidential run, but he made it clear that he would not align himself with either major political party. Speaking at the National Association of Broadcasters convention, Smith explained that while he has been approached by elected officials and business leaders urging him to run, he remains committed to his independent status.

He emphasized that he does not see himself as a politician and has no interest in engaging in traditional party politics. Smith believes that his outsider perspective could be an advantage, allowing him to challenge both Democratic and Republican candidates without being tied to party agendas.

Stephen A. Smith insists that if he were to run, his campaign would focus on economic reform, education, and government accountability, rather than partisan disputes. His willingness to challenge both sides has led some analysts to speculate that he could attract voters who feel disillusioned with the current political system.
