Aaron Rodgers has the chance to etch his name in NFL history yet again after joining the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2025 season. With a Week 8 matchup against his former team, the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers could become just the fifth quarterback in league history to defeat all 32 NFL teams.

This Sunday Night Football showdown will be one of the most anticipated games of the season. Rodgers, who spent 18 years with the Packers, has the opportunity to achieve a rare milestone while squaring off against the franchise where he built his Hall of Fame career.

Adding to the drama, the Steelers’ season opener pits Rodgers against another former team, the New York Jets, setting the stage for a season of high-stakes narratives. Despite his illustrious career, Rodgers enters the season with questions surrounding his recent performance.

In his lone full season with the Jets, he led the team to a disappointing 5-12 record and posted career-low stats, including ranking 31st in QBR. Critics have raised concerns about whether the Steelers will see a resurgence from the 41-year-old quarterback or a continuation of his recent struggles.

The Steelers, under head coach Mike Tomlin, are aiming to break an eight-year playoff drought. With Rodgers at the helm, the team has been labeled both a potential Super Bowl contender and a question mark due to offensive inconsistencies, particularly in the rushing attack. Addressing these issues will be crucial for Pittsburgh’s success in 2025.

Rodgers’ ability to perform at a high level could define not only the Steelers’ season but also his legacy in the twilight of his career. A victory over the Packers in Week 8 would provide a historic highlight and solidify his place among the NFL’s all-time greats. As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on Pittsburgh to see if Rodgers can rise to the occasion.
