There was a time when former Pittsburgh Steelers star Le’Veon Bell was considered one of the best running backs in the NFL. He made the Pro Bowl in three of his first five seasons in the league and was named First Team All-Pro twice in that span. Bell spent each of those years with the Steelers, racking up 5,336 rushing yards, 7,996 all-purpose yards, and 42 total touchdowns.
As fans may remember all too well, Bell sat out the entire 2018 season due to a contract dispute with Pittsburgh, ending his days with the team and, quite frankly, his days as a successful running back. He spent the next three seasons with four different teams (the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers), compiling just 1,218 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns in that span.
Bell recently made headlines for his outspoken support of President-elect Donald Trump, returning him to some kind of spotlight for the first time in years. However, he also made recent headlines after a transgender person accused him of trying to hook up with them in their social media DM’s.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers Running Back Le’Veon Bell Reveals He Is in Many Women’s DM’s
On Saturday, a report was posted in which a transgender person accused Bell of sliding into their DM’s and trying to hook up with them. Later, Bell took to social media to address the report, writing:
“I’m touching on this one time and one time only cuz this DUDE just chasing clout .. first off, I embarrassed my lady because I’m out here in random dm’s when I shouldn’t be … all of this could’ve easily been avoided if I’m just staying solid to my relationship and not in random ‘girls’ dm’s .. PERIOD, I AM SO WRONG FOR THAT and to her, I apologize.”
As one can see, Bell admits that he has been messaging other women despite being in a committed relationship and admits that he is wrong for that.
He goes further, though, claiming to be the victim in this situation because he did not know that the individual in the report was transgender. Bell also states his belief that what the individual did, keeping the fact that they are transgender from him, should be a crime:
“now secondly, LYING to make it seem like I slid in your dm, KNOWING I didn’t know you’re a man should be CRIMINAL .. like buddy should real life face jail time tryna pull some sh*t like this .. we facetimed, and I INSTANTLY knew right away you were a man and you got BLOCKED .. this all happened in NOVEMBER 2023! its now NOVEMBER 2024 and all of a sudden you wanna “out dl men that supports donald trump.”
As one can see, Bell states that this happened last year in November of 2023 and is insinuating that it is only coming out now because of his aforementioned support for Trump in the Presidential election.
Bell concluded with his support of the transgender community, claiming that his only problem is with the individual in the report:
“it’s laughable, but best BELIEVE you won’t get away with this distasteful lie that you tried to trick the internet with, I HOPE YOU GOT GOOD LAWYERS .. buddy got mad because of my support of Donald Trump and decided to trick the internet! lil buddy can be mad about it all he wants, I STILL stand on what I said .. I have ZERO issues/problems with the trans community (just to be clear).. it’s just this ONE is trying to get clout off my name, and that can’t fly .. but I love all of you.”
I’m touching on this one time and one time only cuz this DUDE just chasing clout .. first off, I embarrassed my lady because I’m out here in random dm’s when I shouldn’t be … all of this could’ve easily been avoided if I’m just staying solid to my relationship and not in random… https://t.co/GFjUuDAisr

It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this story, but it also appears as if it will blow over rather quickly.
