The Pittsburgh Steelers were expected to make a move to add depth a the OLB position. It appears Tj Watt will be headed to IR and miss “About 6 weeks” per multiple sources. Multiple reports say they have signed David Anenih.

    David Anenih

Yet another undrafted free agent rookie headed to the Steelers. Anenih played 116 snaps for the Titans this past preseason and was pretty productive. A lot of writers who cover the Titans believed with the absence of Landry that Anenih would make the 53-man roster. The Titans claimed Derek Tuszka, who the Steelers recently released.

Moving on back to David Anenih who showed flashes will certainly add some much needed depth. He recorded 3 sacks, 4 tackles, 2 pass deflections and even added in two forced fumbles. Pretty productive for a first year undrafted free agent. The Steelers have an eye for finding diamonds in the rough and they just may have with this signing.

Pittsburgh loves to use rotations on the d-line probably more so than most teams in the NFL. David Anenih will get opportunities to show what he has as long as he is able to pick up on the playbook rather quickly. Since the team has not officially announced this move as of yet its obvious he won’t be available this week but should be by the following week. It will be interesting to see how Austin the defensive coordinator game plans and intends to attack the upcoming Patriots. There is no replacing a guy like what, but with a solid scheme and versatile players like the Steelers have I don’t expect a huge drop off in productivity.
