Can you believe it is week 14 already? For many, this is the last week before the playoffs begin. Here is my list of starts for week 14.
Tony Pollard RB Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys play the Texans. Do I need to say more? The Texans have planted their flag on the “worst team in the league” island. There is a reason I have Pollard specifically on my list of starts for week 14. I think Dallas wins this game handily and will want to run the ball for most of the second half. I think the Cowboys will want to protect Ezekiel Elliot in a blowout game and not play him. I see Pollard getting more of the carries in garbage time of this game. Start Pollard with confidence.
Christian Kirk WR Jacksonville Jaguars

I’ve talked about Kirk a lot this year and I have him again on my list of starts for week 14. The Titans have struggled against the pass. They just gave up nearly 400 yards to Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. While the Jaguars are not the Eagles, their passing attack has been above average. Kirk is the favorite target of Trevor Lawrence and I think the Jaguars play this game mostly from behind. The Jaguars usually come out flat on the road and need
Deebo Samuel WR San Francisco 49ers

I am cautiously putting Samuel on my list of starts for week 14. I understand the risk of starting a wide receiver with Brock Purdy as the QB. However, I think Kyle Shanahan simplifies the offense for Purdy with a lot of shorter throws. This means that yards after the catch is where points will come. Deebo Samuel is one of the best yards-after-the-catch receivers in the game. While someone like George Kittle might suffer in terms of fantasy, I think Samuel will be fine.
Pat Freiermuth TE Pittsburgh Steelers

I think people have soured on the Steelers’ offense. Najee Harris has been a bust. Diontae Johnson has been a bust. George Pickens shows spurts but not consistent production. If you started Mitch Trubisky at all, you deserve what you got. The one member of the offense that has been consistent is Freiermuth which is why he is on my list of starts for week 14. Kenny Pickett has been targeting him consistently over the past four weeks. He isn’t Travis Kelce (no one is) but Freiermuth is a TE1 that you can feel comfortable playing.
Jeff Wilson Jr. RB Miami Dolphins

Last week was a rough matchup for Wilson Jr. and he didn’t have a good day. This week is the opposite. The Chargers’ defense stinks especially against the run. The number of injuries the Chargers have on both sides of the ball plus some questionable coaching has led this team to underperform. Jeff Wilson Jr. has been great for the Dolphins since they acquired him via trade. With the explosiveness of the Dolphins’ offense, this game has the potential to get out of hand. This means that Miami may run the ball a lot in the second half. Honestly, anyone in Miami’s backfield is a safe start.
That is my list of starts for week 14 in fantasy football. Good luck to all this week especially those that need a win to make it into the playoffs.
