The college football transfer portal is heating up. Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders is transferring to Ole Miss. Spencer Sanders joins the Rebels with one year of eligibility remaining. Sanders entered the transfer portal on December 4. Sanders joins a quarterback room that includes Jaxson Dart and Walker Howard. Sanders also joins respected coach Lane Kiffin who has had success in the NFL and college.
Spencer Sanders Career at Oklahoma State
Sanders had an average 2022 season. Spencer Sanders passed for 2,642 yards, threw 17 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. Sanders and Oklahoma State had an inconsistent season. Oklahoma State finished its season 7-6 and finished fifth in the Big 12. In four years as a starter Sanders passed for 9,553 yards, threw 67 touchdowns, and 40 interceptions.
Sanders Impact In Mississippi
Sanders is joining a loaded quarterback room in Mississippi. Jaxson Dart and Walker Howard will be competing against Sanders for the starting job. Sanders isn’t against competition and is ready to make a name for himself. According to 247 sports Sanders doesn’t mind competion and will work hard. Sanders said, ” I’ve always had a mindset of competing, driving, striving for better. I’ve never shied away from competition. I’m not going to start now.” It will be interesting seeing how Sanders fits in Ole Miss’s quarterback room.
