The current over/under total wins odds in Las Vegas for the Sooner football season were released at 9.5. I’ve read many articles with various predictions, thoughts, and opinions about the upcoming Sooner football season. Many Sooner fan pages are filled with high hopes and expectations for this upcoming season.

There is some mystery and concern of how this team will respond to the overnight departure of T.B.O.W. There is also the question of how quickly the team will adjust to the new system of Head Coach Brent Venables and his staff. Many articles predict that the Sooners will have 9 or less wins and a couple predict a 10-to-11-win season. Although most of the Sooner faithful that I’ve spoken to believe that this team will surprise many this season, there are a few that are hesitant to predict a quick turnaround.

The Schedule Breakdown

Having done my own research, I believe that the 2022 schedule isn’t the most intimidating one that the Sooners have faced in the past couple of years. They begin the season with two home games against UTEP and Kent State. They then travel to Lincoln to face Nebraska for the next game to take on the Cornhuskers. The following week, Kansas State comes to Norman. The Sooners will then travel to the Dallas metro for back-to-back weeks to face TCU and then Texas (SUCKS!!!) to finish out the first half of the season.horns down

After the bye week, the Sooners alternate being home then away every week. To kick off the second half of the schedule Kansas comes to town. The next week the Sooners are traveling to face Iowa State to face the Cyclones. The next game has Baylor headed to Norman. The following matchup has Oklahoma traveling to West Virginia. Then Bedlam against Oklahoma State returns to Norman. The final game on the regular season schedule has OU traveling to play Texas Tech.

Prediction

My prediction for the over/under is take the over. The Sooners will go 11-1 overall, with a trip to the playoffs. What do you think?
