As the playoff push nears it is important to sit the right players. Here is my list of sits for week 8 in fantasy football.
Michael Pittman Jr. WR Indianapolis Colts
Pittman Jr. is first on the list of sits for week 8 in fantasy football. The Sam Ehlinger era has begun in Indianapolis. There is one simple reason why Ehlinger is starting. He is mobile. Matt Ryan was standing in the pocket and getting pummeled. The Colts are hoping that Ehlinger can escape pressure and turn it into a positive play via the scramble. This may be good news for the Colts but bad news for Pittman. Expect his targets and opportunities to go down with Ehlinger at the helm.
Christian Kirk WR Jacksonville Jaguars
The London games are always weird. It is similar to the Thursday night game in fantasy football. Everything seems impossible to predict because the preparation is so off schedule. This is why I have Christian Kirk on the list of sits for week 8 in fantasy football. Kirk has also cooled off from his hot start. Some of that is due to the play of Trevor Lawrence but defenses have also started covering Kirk more. I expect Travis Etienne Jr. to play a larger role in the offense after the James Robinson trade. Combine the lower production with a weird London game, which is a recipe for disappointment for Kirk.
Any Packers Player
Every Packers player is on the list of sits for week 8 in fantasy football. The Packers’ offense is unwatchable right now. Everything looks disjointed and out of sync. Sure they could figure it out this week but the Buffalo Bills are not a great team to figure things out against. If the Packers could not push the ball down the field against the Washington Commanders, I do not see them having any success against the Bills. Allen Lazard is dealing with a shoulder injury and chances are he does not play. If you had to start someone, Aaron Jones is the best bet, but I don’t feel good about it. Sit anyone on the Packers’ offense this week.
Justin Fields QB Chicago Bears
Fields torched the Patriots’ defense with his legs on Monday night. The coaching staff seems to be putting Fields in a game plan that sets him up for success but I still have him on the list of sits for week 8 in fantasy football. It is solely based on the matchup. The Dallas Cowboys have an elite defense. The Detroit Lions have had a lot of success on the ground this season and the Cowboys shut that down. The Cowboys’ secondary is also full of ball hawks who would love the opportunity to defend a Justin Fields throw. While the running quarterback is always nice in fantasy football, I would sit Fields this week.
Michael Gallup WR Dallas Cowboys
The recipe was there last week. Dak Prescott was coming back and Gallup was going to be fully healthy. This was the moment for Gallup to have a big game. He proceeded to catch zero passes on two targets. That is why I have Michael Gallup on the list of sits for week 8 in fantasy football. Until there is proof that Gallup is going to catch a volume of passes, I would keep him on the bench. Also, the Chicago Bears’ defense has been surprisingly good this season. Even with the loss of Robert Quinn, the Bears have a solid defense that doesn’t seem to give up big days to receivers.
That is my list of sits for week 8 in fantasy football. Good luck with the playoff push in week 8!
