With the teams on byes this week, you might not have much choice. Whatever situation you find yourself in, here are sits for week 7 in fantasy football.
Breece Hall RB New York Jets

For the record, I love Breece Hall. He has had some excellent games recently and the Jets look to have gotten a steal in the second round. However, he makes the list of sits for week 7 in fantasy football. It is less about Hall and more about the opponent. If it was not for the Denver defense, I am pretty sure the Broncos would have no wins. That defense can play. With strong cornerbacks, I expect Denver to sell out on the run and make Zach Wilson beat them. You might not have a choice but if you can, sit Hall for a week.
Chiefs Receivers

I know what you are thinking. “But Matt! The 49ers defense has been ravaged by injuries!” “It’s Patrick Mahomes! How can you bet against him?” I hear you. However, the Chiefs receivers have not been the ones lighting it up. It’s been the Travis Kelce show and oddly enough the running backs getting involved. The receivers have had moments here and there but overall have not made a huge impact in fantasy. I also would not count out the 49ers defense. Every time I am ready to write them off, they seem to surprise me. Sit the Chiefs receivers and look elsewhere this week.
Jared Goff QB Detroit Lions

The Lions offense has been a ton of fun. They have been the one offense that has produced some fantasy juggernauts. However, Jared Goff makes the list of sits for week 7 in fantasy football. Goff does really well when he has a clean pocket (like most quarterbacks). His numbers plummet when he is under pressure. He makes bad decisions and often throws bad interceptions. The Dallas Cowboys have a ridiculous pass rush. Micah Parsons is unreal and secondary is full of ball hawks. I feel better about playing other Lions skill positions but keep Goff on the bench.
AJ Dillon RB Green Bay Packers

Going into the season, the Packers were boasting a running back tandem that would be one of the best in the league. This season has gone sideways with Aaron Jones not getting touches and Dillon having a poor season. Dillon has had fumble problems, drop problems, and an offensive line problem (not his fault). Jones is more explosive and still is playable in my opinion. Dillon just has very little value which is why he makes the list of sits for week 7 in fantasy football. This isn’t even a start him if you have to. Find another running back.
James Robinson RB Jacksonville Jaguars

In my list of starts I had Travis Etienne Jr. His production in the past couple of weeks is why James Robinson is on the list of sits for week 7 in fantasy football. It is clear that Etienne is the more explosive back as Robinson has had very little plays over 10 yards. Etienne is the better pass catching back as well meaning that on passing downs, he is getting the opportunities. If the trend continues, I see Robinson getting even less reps. I don’t think he will ever get to Melvin Gordon level reps. However, even if reps are split fifty-fifty, Etienne is just doing more. Go with the higher upside back.
The problem with this week is that you may be forced to play some of these players. Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, AJ Brown, and many more are all on byes this week. This list of sits for week 7 in fantasy football may leave you saying, “I have to play these people because I have no one else!” That may be true but these types of byes are where you show your fantasy manager skills. Find the value and hope for the best!
