Sits For Week 13 In Fantasy Football

Week 13 is here! My list of sits for week 13 was honestly harder than it usually is. There are a lot of matchups this week that I feel are great for offense. Even so, I do have some players that should be on your bench this week.

    Deshaun Watson QB Cleveland Browns

Deshaun Watson is on my list of sits for week 13
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (4) warm up before an NFL preseason football game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, in Jacksonville, Fla. AP

I know what you did. You picked up Watson late in the draft or off of waivers in week 7. You’ve been waiting to spring him on your opponents unsuspectingly once he returned this week. The Houston Texans matchup makes it even better. Despite all of this, Watson is on my list of sits for week 13. We have no clue what Watson will look like on offense. That is too much of a wild card situation for a week where the fantasy playoffs may be decided. Keep Watson on the bench.

    Dalvin Cook RB Minnesota Vikings

Being a person that owns Dalvin Cook in a couple of leagues, it pains me to put him on my list of sits for week 13. All of the focus has been on the quarterback struggles for the Jets. What is lost in that is how great the defense has been. The defensive line has played very well and has shut down the rushing attack of teams. Cook had a bad week last week against the Patriots and it doesn’t get easier this week. I expect a similar week from Cook. Sit him if you can.

    Adam Thielen WR Minnesota Vikings

I promise not all Vikings are on my list of sits for week 13. I felt I had to put him on here because of what he did last week. He scored a great number of points and this may lead managers to have a huge amount of confidence in starting him. As I said above, the Jets’ defense, led by Sauce Gardner, has played very well. Justin Jefferson is a transcendent talent that will get open no matter what. I expect the Jets to take away Thielen and hope to contain Jefferson.

Isiah Pacheco RB Kansas City Chiefs

I like everyone in the Chiefs vs. Bengals game except Pacheco which is why I have him on my list of sits for week 13. I will admit that Pacheco has been a solid fantasy option for a couple of weeks now. I think this game is going to be a shootout and will quickly move to a quarterback battle. Patrick Mahomes will take over the game and by the third quarter, nearly every play will be a pass. At that point, you are hoping that Pacheco has already scored enough points for a good fantasy day. That’s too much of a risk in an important week.

Michael Pittman Jr. WR Indianapolis Colts

Pittman Jr. is another example of a player who I think will have an okay day but not a great one. I have him on my list of sits for week 13 for one reason, the Cowboys’ pass rush. The Colts’ offensive line has struggled to keep Matt Ryan upright this season. With Micah Parsons on the edge, I expect Ryan to be under duress all night. He is going to have to get the ball out quickly or check the ball down a lot. This will limit the opportunities for Pittman Jr. to make an impact on the game. If you have another option, keep Pittman Jr. on the bench this week.

That is my list of sits for week 13. Good luck to all as you start the playoffs or make one final push for a spot.
