Last season, 11-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles became one of the most well-known Green Bay Packers fans in the world. This was not because of a newfound love for the NFL’s winningest franchise, but because her husband, safety Jonathan Owens, played for the Packers last season. Biles was often seen at games, particularly at Lambeau Field, decked out in Packers themed apparel that also had Owens’ name or number on it.
Over the course of the offseason, the Packers decided to completely revamp their safety room. They signed former New York Giants star Xavier McKinney and drafted three more young players at the position. This meant that Owens was not re-signed and became a free agent.
As a result, the safety signed with Green Bay’s oldest rival, the Chicago Bears, for the 2024 NFL season.
Chicago Bears Safety Jonathan Owens Missed Part of Training Camp to Support Simone Biles in the 2024 Olympics
As many fans are aware, the Bears allowed Owens to miss nearly a week of training camp so that he could travel to Paris, France to cheer on his wife in the 2024 Olympics.
Biles ended up winning four total medals in Paris, three gold and one silver. Her 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals make her the most decorated gymnast in history.
Over the course of his time in Paris, Owens went viral for his unwavering support of his wife, but also was called out by some for wearing one of her gold medals in pictures that the couple took together.
The outrage by fans prompted a stern rebuke from Biles who commented on one post, “Leave us alone.”
Simone Biles Went Viral for Wearing Green Bay Packers Gear to a Chicago Bears Preseason Game
Yesterday, the Bears played a preseason game in Chicago against the Cincinnati Bengals. Biles was in attendance to support her husband, and quickly went viral on social media because of her choice of outfit.
As seen above, Biles wore a jacket that depicted her husband playing football in a Packers uniform. Both Bears and Packers fans shared their reactions to her wardrobe on X (formerly Twitter):

If Biles’ comments to hating posts during the Olympics have taught fans anything, it is that she does not care what they think. Once Owens officially makes the Bears’ 53-man roster, she undoubtedly will get more apparel made that is Chicago-themed.
