Kentucky Wildcats Are Benching Junior Quarterback Brock Vandagriff For Freshman Cutter Boley On Saturday

Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Cutter Boley (8) fumbles the ball in the fourth quarter against Texas Longhorns during the second half of an NCAA college football game at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, Texas, Saturday, Nov 24, 2024.

On Monday, it was announced by head coach Mark Stoops that he will be benching Vandagriff for Boley. This feels like a move that was long overdue for the Wildcats. This season, Brock Vandagriff has completed 57.3% of his passes for 1,593 yards, 10 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He has not played well at all this season for Kentucky.

Cutter Boley has completed 52.8% of his passes for 290 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in minimal action this season. The Kentucky Wildcats have nothing to lose in the final game of the regular season against the Louisville Cardinals this weekend.

Texas Longhorns linebacker Colin Simmons (11) tries to sack Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Cutter Boley (8) in the fourth quarter during the second half of an NCAA college football game at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, Texas, Saturday, Nov 24, 2024.

If Cutter Boley looks good this weekend, then the Wildcats might be in a good spot at quarterback next season. However, if he looks horrendous against the Cardinals, they might have to look elsewhere at quarterback for the 2025 college football season.
