Shilo Sanders, Deion ‘Coach Prime’ Sanders’ eldest son, revealed in a recent interview with BucsGameday as to why he decided to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after going undrafted in the NFL draft.

Shilo Sanders split his college football career between the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Jackson State Tigers, and the Colorado Buffaloes, but went undrafted in the 2025 NFL draft. Sanders soon signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the actual reason for his choice has not been revealed until now.

“Look at where we at. You know what I’m saying? Like, just look at the whole coaching staff is like it’s real supportive coaching staff. Everybody wants to see everybody do good. Even the guys on the team just been talking to everybody. Everybody’s cool. We all want to see each other win and and it’s just a great environment, you know, to thrive in.” Shilo Sanders explained in his interview with BucsGameday recently.

While Shilo Sanders will be playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the upcoming NFL season, his younger brother, Shedeur Sanders will be playing for the Cleveland Browns. Shedeur Sanders was touted as a top prospect in this NFL draft but his name was not called in the first few rounds. Eventually, he was selected as the 144th pick in the fifth round of the draft by none other than the Cleveland Browns.

Shilo Sanders Will Be Expected To Perform For The Tampa Bay Buccaneers In Next Season

With the addition of a brilliant player like Shilo Sanders to their roster, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be hoping to do better in the upcoming NFL season. In the 2024 NFL season, the Buccaneers finished at the top of the NFC South table after winning ten games and losing seven.

The Buccaneers made it to the Wild Card Round to take on the Washington Commanders. However, the team lost with a close 23-20 final score and was chucked from the NFL tournament.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be eager to demonstrate their prowess after acquiring talented players like Shilo Sanders this offseason. In his senior year as a safety for the Colorado Buffaloes, Shilo Sanders managed 45 solo tackles with 22 assists and a single sack. While his brother, Shedeur Sanders will be expected to work hard for the Cleveland Browns in the upcoming NFL season, Shilo Sanders will also have plenty of responsibility on his shoulders to carry on his father, Deion Sanders’ legacy.
