The college football schedule is something that has been discussed as Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines play nine conference games in the Big Ten, while other conferences are only playing eight conference games in a season.
There have been discussions regarding college football scheduling, so let’s take a look at what Moore suggested should happen.
Sherrone Moore Wants Uniform Conference Scheduling

While appearing on SiriusXM College Sports Radio, Michigan Wolverines coach Sherrone Moore discussed how he wants to see a blanket number of conference games throughout the sport to relieve conferences trying to get an advantage on their schedule.
“I just hope that it’s uniform – that there’s not a conference playing eight, there’s a conference playing nine, there’s conferences playing FCS, there’s conferences playing Group of 5. Let’s all do the same thing. … [With] our nine conference games and everybody else is playing eight conference games, its’ like, ‘Well, that 6-3 team in the Big Ten looks better than the 7-2 or 8-1 team in the other conferences.’ I think for us, as the whole institution of college football, we’ve got to get aligned on what we want to do.
“Nine conference games, if we’re going to do that, we’re going to do it. If we’re going to do eight, we’re going to do eight. But let’s all do it together and not skip around and do all these different things to get an advantage.”
Currently, the Big Ten and Big 12 play nine conference games while the ACC and SEC play eight. It will be interesting if Sherrone Moore’s idea of getting the power conferences to agree will help the College Football Playoff selection going forward.
