The Pittsburgh Steelers met with quarterback prospect Shedeur Sanders on Thursday. While the Steelers are expected to sign Aaron Rodgers this offseason, the team could select Sanders as a long-term solution under center if the Colorado Buffaloes standout slips in the draft.
During an appearance on “Up & Adams” on Thursday, Sanders said he enjoyed his time with the Steelers and meeting the coaching staff. He said he understands why Pittsburgh makes so many postseason appearances under head coach Mike Tomlin.
Shedeur Sanders: Mike Tomlin has a winning philosophy

When Kay Adams asked Sanders to explain why he thinks the Steelers win so often, Sanders said he has a winning philosophy that reminds him of his father Deion Sanders.
“First, the value that the team has and what he (Tomin) preaches from his staff down is similar to like my dad,” Shedeur said.
Shedeur Sanders on visiting the #Steelers today: “I understand the mindset and why they win a lot. … What he (Mike Tomlin) preaches from the top down is like my dad. … It was a 10.”

Sheduer would be ok if the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Aaron Rodgers

Adams asked Shedeur about the possibility of the Steelers signing Rodgers to start in 2025. Shedeur said he didn’t talk about that issue directly during the meeting on Thursday, but claimed he would be fine sitting and learning under Rodgers for the upcoming season.
“If that’s the way that things play out… I wouldn’t question what God has planned for me,” Shedeur said.
Even if the Steelers are a good match, one would think Sheduer hopes God’s plan includes being drafted higher than 21.
