“He Disrespected The Process”: Shedeur Sanders Draft Nightmare Blamed On Colorado QB’s Attitude By Chris Simms

Shedeur Sanders has had a rocky beginning to his NFL career. The talented quarterback was ignored in the first few rounds of the 2025 NFL draft and only came up in the fifth round. He was ultimately selected by the Cleveland Browns as the 144th pick.

In an episode of ‘NFL on NBC’, Mike Florio and former NFL player Chris Simms discussed the different factors which might have led to Sanders’ draft stock plummeting, despite his impressive stats in college football.

“He disrespected the process. If there’s one thing, he has fault in, it’s that. That’s the first litmus test of the NFL — is he going to work? Is he going to be ready? Is he going to be prepared? These are the things you can control, and yes, that’s where he disrespected the process, and that’s where a lot of the NFL was very turned off by Shedeur Sanders.” Chriss Simms said about Shedeur Sanders on ‘NFL on NBC’.

Shedeur Sanders last played for the Colorado Buffaloes from 2023 to 2024 and before that for the Jackson State Tigers from 2021 to 2022, following his father Deion Sanders. In his senior year with the Buffaloes, Sanders threw for a total of 4,134 yards, scoring 37 touchdowns while managing ten interceptions for the team.

Shedeur Sanders’ Draft Selection Was Because Of President Donald Trump

In other news, rumors are swirling that the US President Donald Trump is responsible for Shedeur Sanders being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. After Sanders went unpicked in the first couple of rounds, the POTUS ranted on Truth Social about how NFL team owners are proving to be ‘stupid’ for ignoring Sanders.

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be “picked” IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!” US President Donald Trump posted.

President Trump’s words may have been taken quite seriously since Shedeur Sanders managed to be selected by the Cleveland Browns. The Browns will be eager to use Sanders’ help on the field to improve their record from the previous season and perhaps win their first Super Bowl ever.
