Shedeur Sanders had one of his worst outings over the weekend when he took on the Bears. The rookie talent hardly made a dent on the board and the matchup ended up with Cleveland losing, and that too, quite badly.
After the game ended, Sanders was quizzed on what he might have done differently and the quarterback seemed to take a lot of the blame on himself. Sanders was also quizzed on a pass he made to Jerry Jeudy, which the wide-out missed. The signal-caller went on to state that he will not throw more shade on Jeudy, and that he is sure that the wide receiver feels pretty bad already. However, this was interpreted by Jason Whitlock to be a negative comment about Jeudy.

“It’s going to happen. Like it’s going to happen. So, like it is what it is. I’m not going to kick someone while they’re down. He understands it was a big play, and I’m sure he’s hard on himself. So there’s no need for me to be extra and do that,” Shedeur Sanders said.

“Absolutely unreal. He backed a bus over Jeudy while claiming not to. Bring back the wonderlic. I’d love to know Shedeur’s score,” Jason Whitlock tweeted in response.

Jason Whitlock’s comments on Shedeur Sanders are not surprising, since the veteran analyst has turned out to be one of the rookie’s biggest critics ever since the draft process. At the same time, Sanders has managed to impress tons and has rallied a huge army of fans and followers around himself. In fact, Sanders topped Google’s list as the most searched athlete of this year.

Shedeur Sanders’ Gets Strong Support From Coach Kevin Stefanski
While Shedeur Sanders may have faced the wrath of Jason Whitlock, his coach and staff are continuing to back the young talent. Kevin Stefanski spoke at length about Sanders and admitted that football is a mix of both good and bad games.
“There’s going to be really good games. There’s going to be games you want back. There’s going to be plays you want back, great plays. I look at it for a young player to be able to go into a really tough spot, have some really good moments, some moments that you want back…” Kevin Stefanski said.
Through a mix of both good and bad games, Stefanski hoped for Shedeur Sanders to learn and grow from these. It seems like this current season is just a trial run for Sanders and his coach wants him to learn from on-field scenarios as much as possible.
