Shedeur Sanders has been watched closely ever since he fell to the 144th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. It was one of the more shocking storylines in recent draft memory. However, Sanders is going through some off-the-field drama.
Shedeur Sanders Lashes Out After Being Accused Of $500k Purchase

There was a viral rumor floating around over the weekend claiming Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders bought himself a car for $500,000 as a gift:
Naturally, the alleged purchase garnered some criticism and it’s reached a point where he is addressing the rumor personally.
It was the Dov Kleiman NFL aggregator account that brought the report to everyone’s attention, calling it “Inspirational” that he’s performed so well with the Browns thus far.
“Inspirational: Browns star rookie QB Shedeur Sanders bought himself a custom Rolls-Royce worth over $500K. Despite being drafted in the 5th round, Sanders had performed phenomenally thus far in Cleveland. A much-deserved gift to himself,” Kleiman wrote.
There wasn’t much proof that the new car was actually Shedeur’s and Kleiman was quickly called out for it. But nobody called out Kleiman for the post more than Shedeur.
Taking to X last night, Shedeur declared that it was “another lie” and that he’s “focused on my team” and not getting any new cars.
“Another lie…. I’m focused on my team not a car purchase!” Shedeur wrote on X, reposting Kleiman’s original post.

Users on X were happy to see Shedeur Sanders standing up for himself, with many feeling that his personal purchases aren’t anyone’s business to begin with:
“Even if you did get a car, who gives af if the money you spend doesn’t hurt anyone and it’s not distracting you from football,” one user remarked.
“I’m a car guy, I just love cars. Nobody should hate on you for decisions that don’t hurt other people. Drive on,” another declared.
“Some people thrive on negativity and will do anything to bring you down. But the city and fans are behind you, and I can’t wait to watch you silence the doubters with your play on the field. Keep working hard—God has a big plan for you. Go Browns!” a Browns fan wrote.
Kleiman, meanwhile, has been getting roasted on X for the last 48 hours or so:
“Don’t even care if it’s true or not. You just say f it I’m going to post anyway,” one said.
“What’s wrong with you Dov?” another asked.
“Unfollowing for spreading lies,” a third declared.
Good for Shedeur.
