Shedeur Sanders’ most recent position with the Cleveland Browns was revealed by team insider Ashley Bastock. Bastock revealed that Sanders has still been training only with the reserves and has not practiced with the first team as of yet. However, the Colorado University product has impressed everyone with his throws in the training camp.
Sanders’ position in the Cleveland Browns roster is definitely a pickle, mainly since the squad already has other talented quarterbacks, including veteran Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco. The team also picked up another rookie quarterback, Dillon Gabriel, in a couple of rounds before bagging Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round.
“This is largely because of the way reps played out. Pickett and Gabriel were given more to do in terms of experimenting as the Browns install this offense… We still have yet to see Sanders work with the 1s, but he made the most of the reps he got with the reserves.” Ashley Bastock said about Shedeur Sanders in her recent reports about the team.

Shedeur Sanders was indeed a lucky and unexpected pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL draft. Sanders was originally expected to be one of the best prospects of the draft, but the media image painted of him during the draft process essentially dropped his name much lower in the draft. The quarterback was eventually bagged by the Browns in the fifth round of the draft.
Shedeur Sanders Should Not Play In Week 1 As Per Terry Pluto
While many Cleveland fans are hoping that Shedeur Sanders will turn things around for the team, there are still many who feel that the young quarterback is not ready to start for the team. Sports commentator Terry Pluto feels that Sanders should not be regarded as the starting quarterback for the Browns in Week 1, despite many reports stating that this will not happen.

At the same time, rumors are that the Browns franchise is eager to give all of their quarterbacks a fair chance and opportunities in the upcoming NFL season. This also has received negative votes from both fans and analysts who feel that a rotating team will never be able to make it to the Super Bowl.

However, with four talented quarterbacks, all vying to perform and impress, head coach Kevin Stefanski’s hands are tied, and he needs to make decisions with a hard heart. Still, this comes with the job and the team needs to make up their mind about which QB will lead their offense in the 2025 NFL season.
