Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders earned his first NFL victory Sunday, and he wasn’t about to let Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby forget the physical battle. The Cleveland Browns’ 24-10 win over Las Vegas marked a milestone for Sanders, but it came with plenty of bruises courtesy of the Pro Bowl pass rusher.

Their postgame exchange was captured on video and quickly went viral for its profane yet good-natured tone.

During their postgame handshake, Sanders asked Crosby, “Why’re you trying to hit the s— out of me, though?” to which Crosby replied with a smile, “I was. That’s what the f— I do”. The interaction was filmed by Sanders’ older brother, Deion Sanders Jr., and posted to Instagram.

Crosby made his presence felt throughout the game, accounting for three of the team’s five quarterback hits and leading Las Vegas with five tackles for a loss. Despite the relentless pressure, Sanders was sacked only once and completed 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown in his first career start.
The exchange showed mutual respect between the two competitors. After their profane banter, Crosby offered words of encouragement, telling Sanders, “Keep doing your thing. Keep going brother. Rooting for you”.
Before the game, Crosby had acknowledged Sanders’ talent, saying, “I know his family well; they are great people, and I always rooted for him. So, it is cool, I am happy for him, he is getting his first start”. However, Crosby also made clear his intentions to test the rookie quarterback.
Sanders’ father, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, responded to the viral moment by posting the photo of his son and Crosby to his Instagram story, hinting at his approval of the competitive camaraderie.

The win was historic for Cleveland, as Sanders became the first Browns rookie quarterback since 1995 to win his debut game. The performance was a dramatic turnaround from his NFL debut the previous week against Baltimore, where he completed just 4 of 16 passes for 47 yards with two interceptions after replacing the injured Dillon Gabriel.
