Shedeur Sanders: The Cleveland Browns are figuring out what to do with the plethora of quarterback talent on their roster. Drafting two quarterbacks in the first five round when you already have Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and (technically) Deshaun Watson under contract was interesting.
However, Sanders’ spot on the depth chart seems to have changed.
Breaking: Shedeur Sanders’ Spot On Depth Chart Just Changed Drastically

To determine who will start Week 1 for the Cleveland Browns, four quarterbacks have been competing this summer:
The team is evaluating veteran Joe Flacco, rookies Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel and journeyman Kenny Pickett. On Friday, the Browns held a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers during Day 8 of training camp at Cross Country Mortgage Campus in Berea, Ohio.
Flacco went 9-for-13 with two touchdowns while Sanders completed seven of his 10 passes with a touchdown. But Gabriel didn’t play as well as the rest.
He went 3-for-14 on his passing attempts and threw an interception. According to coach Kevin Stefanski, Pickett didn’t compete in team drills today due to a hamstring injury that has limited his role in practice.
Day 8 of Browns training camp is a wrap. Here’s how all 3 QBs performed in team drills. Kenny Pickett practiced but didn’t do team drills.

Gabriel’s performance puts Sanders, who was selected by Cleveland with the 144th overall pick in the fifth round of April’s NFL draft, in a better spot to be named Flacco’s backup during the preseason.
According to a report published by the Browns Wire of USA Today, Sanders has quickly made a strong impression. He completed 70% of his passes in team drills with five touchdowns and no interceptions throughout the first week of camp.
He has also been putting in extra work to develop his skills and prepare for the upcoming regular season. On Wednesday, Sanders took reps against the Browns’ first-team defense and is expected to receive more opportunities to do the same.
The Browns’ preseason opener is on Aug. 8 against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Cleveland travels to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to play the Eagles on Aug. 16 before wrapping up the three-game preseason at home against the Los Angeles Rams.
This stretch of games is the perfect opportunity for Sanders to get playing time and experience before the start of the regular season. The Browns’ season opener is Sept. 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland.
