Shedeur Sanders has been creating news headlines even before he managed to make it to the NFL draft and has continued to make waves ever since. The preseason finale between the Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Rams saw Deion Sanders’ son playing for a very brief period of time before being pulled out by head coach Kevin Stefanski.
However, many have been accusing Stefanski of sabotaging Shedeur Sanders’ future in the NFL. Still others have been remarking that Sanders was benched as a result of racism in the Cleveland Browns team. Sports journalist, Jon Root, had none of this and immediately called these accusations out through a tweet from his X account.

“Shedeur Sanders has become the Angel Reese of the NFL, thanks to his supporters… Just like Reese’s fans, they claim any criticism of Shedeur has some sort of racist, micro-aggressive undertone to it, and they want the sports world to believe they are perpetual victims… It’s complete & utter nonsense. The discourse around these two is insufferable,” Jon Root tweeted about Shedeur Sanders from his X account.
“The discourse around Shedeur Sanders has gotta stop. He’s not a victim of an “unfair system”. Claiming racism against the NFL, Browns and anyone that criticizes him, is ridiculous,” Root added in another tweet.

While many have condemned Stefanski for pulling out Shedeur Sanders before the quarterback could prove himself in the game, others have justified the head coach’s decision and that he only did what he thought was best for the team.
Shedeur Sanders Gets Unexpected Promotion In Cleveland Browns
While the preseason finale may not have gone as Shedeur Sanders expected, the quarterback got some majorly great news after the game ended. Sanders, who was all the way at the bottom of the quarterback depth chart, found himself suddenly to be QB3 after the team released Tyler Huntley and traded Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders.

With these two quarterbacks out of the team, the Cleveland Browns will have veteran Joe Flacco as the starting QB now. Rookie Dillon Gabriel is most likely to be the backup quarterback according to recent rumors, but this is not exactly confirmed. This also casts doubt on Shedeur Sanders’ future in the Cleveland Browns.
Even if he may not be listed in the team’s roster for the upcoming season, there is no doubt that Shedeur Sanders is the most popular player in the Cleveland Browns camp right now. With a mix of controversy and his unique talents, the quarterback has somehow worked his way into the hearts of fans of the team.
