Shedeur Sanders’ future position in the Cleveland Browns team is currently a hot topic in various NFL discussion forums. Sanders being a talented quarterback will be an amazing starting quarterback for any team, including the Browns. However, with the Browns, Sanders might not have earned the coveted QB1 position yet according to Mark Schlereth, former NFL player turned sportscaster.
Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns as the 144th pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. However, Sanders has been the center point of numerous controversies and criticisms, mainly regarding his attitude. Another point of contention that has NFL coaches cynical of Sanders is his father, Deion Sanders’ influence on his playing style and also perhaps the team management.
“I’m not gonna say he will start eventually, but Joe Flacco. Not only has Joe Flacco had that experience, he knows this offense.” Mark Schlereth said on ‘Breakfast Ball’ on Fox Sports.
“He would have to have the greatest summer of any quarterback in history for (Kevin) Stefanski to put his career on the line,” Cragi Carton, co-host, said about Shedeur Sanders in the Cleveland Browns.

The Cleveland Browns brought in veteran quarterback Joe Flacco for the 2025 NFL season. With his tremendous experience, Flacco will bring plenty of value as a starting quarterback. Apart from Flacco, the Browns also have Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders to lean on as quarterbacks. However, it seems very unlikely that the Browns will use Sanders’ services as starting quarterback right in his rookie season.

Shedeur Sanders’ Prank-Caller’s Father Fined $100,000
Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders’ prank-caller’s father, Jeff Ulbrich, was recently fined $100,000 for not protecting confidential information distributed by the NFL. Jeff Ulbrich’s son, Jax Ulbrich, found Sanders’ number in his father’s iPad and called up the quarterback in the middle of the 2025 NFL draft, lying to him that the New Orleans Saints will pick him in the next round.

Not only Ulbrich, but even the Atlanta Falcons team for whom Ulbrich works for as a defensive coordinator, were fined an amount of $250,000. Both Jax and Jeff Ulbrich extended separate apologies to the NFL and also the Sanders’ family as a whole. Shedeur Sanders and the rest of his family members have not commented on the situation as of yet and seem to be content with the apologies received and the punishment from the NFL.
