Shedeur Sanders’ NFL career got off to an interesting start and has been making headlines nearly every single day. The same can be said about Arch Manning at the college level as his #1 ranked Texas Longhorns enter the year.
However, the response after game one has fans questioning a massive double standard.
“Race Is Involved” Shedeur Sanders Fans Rip Arch Manning And “Double Standard” (Report)

A single game was all it took for college football fans to start comparing Arch Manning to Shedeur Sanders:
Manning, the nephew of Eli and Peyton, entered this season as the favorite to win the Heisman despite not having much experience at the collegiate level. Sure, he finished the 2024 season with 939 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions, but he didn’t really go up against any loaded opponents. That all changed this Saturday when Texas took on Ohio State.
During the first half of the Texas-Ohio State game, Manning completed just 5-of-10 passes for 26 yards. It was a lackluster showing for a quarterback being labeled the “best player” since Tim Tebow.
Unfortunately for Manning, things didn’t get much better in the second half. The five-star recruit from Isidore Newman had a pass intercepted by Jermaine Matthews Jr. during the closing minutes of the third quarter.
So where does Shedeur fit in all of this drama?
Throughout the 2024 season, Sanders dealt with nonstop criticism regardless of how well he played. And despite all the backlash, he still had 4,134 passing yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Manning, meanwhile, has received a handful of excuses for his rough showing against the Buckeyes.

Throughout the second half of the Texas-Ohio State game, fans pointed out a double standard between Manning and Sanders.
“The hate for Arch Manning needs to be just as loud as it was for Shedeur. This is the definition of hype off a last name with no stats, no proof. Shedeur put up numbers under pressure every week, Arch hasn’t done a thing yet but he gets Heisman talk? Media bias at its finest,” one fan pointed out.
“I hope anyone who was dragging Shedeur’s name through the mud is ready to have the same energy for Arch Manning because he’s been terrible so far,” a second fan said.
“Lol everybody said Shedeur was only considered good because of his last name. Arch manning is the epitome of of that … his hype train is 100% manufactured because hes peyton and Eli’s NEPHEWWWW,” another fan wrote on X.
There’s still plenty of time for Manning to work through his struggles and show that he belongs on the big stage, make no mistake about it.
As for Sanders, he’s getting ready for his rookie season with the Cleveland Browns. He’s projected to be the No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart.
